Supervising TESD Specialist Ricardo Detecio along with Auditor Francia Sementela and Append Party-list representative Acel Diesta and Melanie Recibido spearheaded the distribution of tools kits of which are intended to aid and support trainees in establishing their own livelihood or business.

In his speech, Supervising TESD Specialist urged the trainees to maximize the use of these tool kits in earning additional income and setting up their own livelihood business while Append Party-list representative Acel Diesta challenged the trainees to make use of the livelihood assistance granted to them as a driving force to succeed in life.

The said training program was under the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) of TESDA which seeks to address the specific needs of communities and train youth with technical skills that will equip and empower them towards employment opportunities, may it be as self-employment or entrepreneurship.

Since STEP was implemented, a lot of community members have already benefitted from it of which most of the beneficiaries are already engaged into self or wage employment. This is an intervention program to address high poverty incidence in communities through technical vocational trainings that are accessible to the people, most especially the less privileged families.
