About Us

TESDA-Sorsogon is the provincial arm of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority that takes charge with the overall TVET management in the province of Sorsogon.

 

TESDA-Sorsogon operates under the leadership of Provincial Director Jose V, Serrano Jr.  The Office consisting of  eight  (8) personnel, five of which are regular and three are contractuals,  is composed of  a Technical Unit, which is responsible for the implementation of the agency’s programs, projects and activities for the province and working in close coordination with the Administrative Unit, which takes charge with the financial, assets and personnel  management, as it provides the administrative and general support services  to various programs, projects, and activities of the Office.

Mandate


The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is the government agency tasked to manage and supervise technical education and skills development (TESD) in the Philippines. It was created by virtue of Republic Act 7796, otherwise known as the “Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994”. The said Act integrated the functions of the former National Manpower and Youth Council (NMYC), the Bureau of Technical-Vocational Education of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (BTVE-DECS) and the Office of Apprenticeship of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
