Surrendered Drug Users undergo TESDA tech-voc training in Sorsogon City

Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Sorsogon Provincial Office endeavored in a two-day skills training for the first batch of surrendered drug users (SDUs) in city of Sorsogon last January 13-14, 2016  at  TESDA Sorsogon Function Hall, City Hall Complex, Cabid-an, Sorsogon City.

The twenty-one (21) SDUs who were endorsed by Sorsogon City Social Welfare and Development Office underwent training in cakes and frosting and were equipped with knowledge and skills enhancement through a hands-on training under the tutelage of a qualified TVET trainer.

The said training was a joint collaboration with PNP and CSWDO in pursuance to Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s war against illegal drugs and TESDA Circular on Institutionalizing Drug Abuse Prevention and Post Rehabilitation programs in all public and private Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) and TESDA Technology Institutions (TTIs).

Aside from city of Sorsogon, the provincial office will also be providing skills training and enhancements for SDUs in other municipalities including Irosin, Gubat and Castilla as part of the agency’s commitment in helping drug dependents/surrenderees get armed with skills and livelihood opportunity to help them get back in the mainstream society.
