TESDA Region V deploys new promulgated training regulations and developed competency assessment tools
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Region V initiated deployment of new promulgated training regulations and developed competency assessment tools for seven qualifications under TVET last December 20-21, 2016 at TESDA Sorsogon Provincial Office.

Among the qualifications with new promulgated training regulations and competency assessment tools are Pharmacy Services NC III, Bookkeeping NC III, Motorcycle/Small Engine Servicing NC II, Organic Animal Production NC II, Electronic Installation and Maintenance NC II and III, Animal Production (Swine) NC II and Animal Production (Poultry Chicken) NC II.

During the 2-day meeting, the lead assessors for each qualification presented the newly promulgated training regulations and instigated a comparative discussion to identify the differences between the new regulations from the old one of which include changes in assessment fee, allotted time for assessment, competencies, tools, supplies, equipment, etc.

About 116 participants composing of assessors, trainers, TESDA UPTRAS and CAC Focals coming from different provinces in the region attended the said meeting.

The said deployment is in pursuance to the agency’s continuous pursuit of strengthening the development of Filipino workforce and responding to industry demands while adhering to quality standards. The Training Regulations (TR) is a TESDA-promulgated document that serves as basis for which the competency-based curriculum and instructional materials and competency assessment tools are developed. It defines the competency standards for a national qualification and how such qualification can be gained, assessed and be given recognition.
