TESDA Sorsogon Provincial Office joins gov’t agencies in Business and Labor Industry Forum and Job Fair
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Sorsogon Provincial Office has joint forces with Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in cooperation with the local government unit of Pilar in the Business and Labor Industry Forum and Job Fair held at Pilar Sorsogon last February 10-11, 2017.

Aiming to catalyze employment and generate livelihood in the communities, the industry forum and job fair was participated by individuals coming from different barangays in the municipality of Pilar who took the event as an opportunity and a stepping ground towards entering the workforce.

More so, resource speakers coming from the provincial office of various government agencies and business sector imparted some words of encouragement and enlightenment to the applicants by shedding light on topics that concern Labor Rights and Responsibilities, Key Employment Generators and the Labor Market: Current demands and opportunities.

Along with the forum and job fair, DILG’s Skills Training for Accelerated Growth in Local Government Unit (STAG LGU)- Training for Better Access to Job Opportunities (TraBAJO) program was presented and launched by DILG MLGOO Ms. Sharon S. Lopez in partnership with TESDA and DOLE. This is in pursuance to providing the community with necessary skilled workforce requirement and provide sustainable intervention to improve the capacity and condition of the unemployed and empower them through skills training which will lead to gainful employment and entrepreneurial activities.
Present in the event were LGU Pilar Municipal Mayor Carolyn C. Sy-Reyes, TESDA Director Jose V. Serrano Jr., DOLE Provincial Field Officer Marlyn Luzuriaga and 1st District Congresswoman Evelina Escudero.
