About 229 trainees of BuB training programs graduate in municipality of Pilar

Armed with the right skills and sufficient training, a total of 229 beneficiaries of BuB training programs in municipality of Pilar are now ready to take over the workforce after successfully completing their respective training courses in various qualifications under the BuB program.


In recognition of their successful completion, LGU-Pilar in cooperation with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Sorsogon National Agricultural School and Bulusan Vocational Technical School organized a culminating activity at Bonifacio Covered Court, Pilar, Sorsogon last August 4, 2016 to award training and national certificates (NC) to the graduates of BuB training programs.


Among the two hundred ninety nine (299) graduates, twelve (12) of which graduated in Prepare Cold Meals, thirty (30) trainees in Prepare Hot Meals, fifty (50) in Assembly of Solar Night Lamp and Post Lamp, sixty seven (67) in Pastry Making (Leading to BPP NC II) composing of two batches and another three batches also graduated in Process Food by Salting, Curing and Smoking (Leading to FOP NC III) composing of seventy (70) trainees all in all.


Furthermore, the provincial office was able to achieve 98% assessment and certification rate. Out of the two hundred ninety nine (299) graduates, one hundred seventy five (175) have undergone assessment and one hundred (175) were certified. Twenty seven (27) trainees were deemed certified in Prepare Hot Meals, twelve (12) in Prepare Cold Meals, sixty seven (67) in Pastry Making (Leading to BPP NC II) and sixty six (66) in Food by Salting, Curing and Smoking (Leading to FOP NC III).


Present in the program were Kagawad. Dennis Cruz (representative and private secretary of Vice Mayor Celso Y. Lao Jr.), BuB Focal Engr. Ruel S. Ortiz, Municipal Administrator Arthur Gatchetorima (representative of Mayor Carolyn Sy-Reyes), Councilor Ambrosio P. Mananes, Municipal Information Officer Annie L. Perete and Guest of Honor TESDA Provincial Director Jose V. Serrano Jr. 


Meanwhile, Mr. Manuel Abasola, a graduate of Assembly of Solar Night Lamp and Post Lamp delivered his heartfelt learning testimony by sharing his inspirational journey in facing life’s challenges and how BuB training program helped him face it through all.


“Because of the livelihood training program, I was able to uplift the life of my family. The BuB program has been of a huge aid to me especially now that I am already a certified cellphone repair technician. With this, I’m truly thankful to TESDA.”, Abasola shared.


Since BuB started years ago, a lot of community members have already benefitted from it. Most of these beneficiaries are already engaged into self or wage employment.
