TESDA Sorsogon participates in the 1st Provincial CBR Congress

Technical Education and Skills Development Authority took part in 1st Provincial Community-based Rehabilitation Congress held at SMMGHHSC Conference Hall, Pangpang, Sorsogon City with the theme "Enhancing Capacities and Empowerment of Stakeholders Toward Inclusion of PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES" last August 26, 2016.
The said activity was conducted by the Provincial Government of Sorsogon in partnership with the Sorsogon Integrated Health Services Foundation, Inc. and local government units (LGUs) of the 14 municipalities in the Province of Sorsogon implementing CBR Programs for PWDs.


Present in the congress to discuss the programs and services for persons with disabilities were representatives from the different agencies and sectors in the province of Sorsogon including TESDA, DOLE, DepEd and DSWD.
Meanwhile, TESDA Representative, Mr. Jason H. Olarte walked the participants on the special programs and services offered by the agency in the province such as the free training programs for persons with disabilities. Furthermore, he oriented the participants as to how they can partake and avail the said training programs.


The Community-Based training program for PWDs was purposely aimed at mainstreaming disability programs and activities into the local government’s annual plan with Sorsogon province as the pioneer local government unit to introduce the program along with the support of the leaders of the Sorsogon City Association of differently-abled persons.
